Amenities

Early German settlers built Sunday Houses to provide places to stay when they came to town on weekends for marketing and church. Often families shared houses, with one family staying upstairs and another downstairs.

Serendipity is a traditional Sunday House remodeled with all of the amenities to make your stay comfortable and memorable. The décor of vintage finds and family treasures have stories of their own, but it's your story while staying at Serendipity that is waiting to be told.

Downstairs

A romantic and spa-inspired boudoir beckons as you cross the downstairs threshold. Neutral tones and cozy surroundings give a feeling of tranquility and relaxation. An antique cast iron tub, it's outside refurbished with steeple paint, sets the mood. The rusted French-style gate was rescued from New Orleans before Katrina.

The comfy pillow-top queen bed has luxurious linens and big fluffy pillows. An heirloom quilt accents the wall behind the antique iron bed.

Covers of Look magazines, found in the hostess's grandmother's attic harkening back to the Camelot days of the Kennedy's in the White House, are now gracing the walls. The vintage décor theme is also carried into the half-bath with a sweet vintage child's dress and old family photos. Just to make sure you truly do pamper yourselves, plush spa robes and slippers are left for you to enjoy.

Upstairs

Sequestered upstairs is an inviting living area and half-bath. Open the doors of the pine cabinet to find a tv/dvd, movies, games, and other surprises. A wireless internet connection is available for your convenience.

A non-working antique stove doubles as a coffee/tea bar and microwave stand. The small refrigerator will preserve your midnight snack of leftovers you're sure to bring back from any of the fine Fredericksburg restaurants you select.

A World War I era British uniform trunk has been repurposed to become a table beside the sofa.

A small table for two is also upstairs and who knows what delectable treats will be left for you!
